Alexis Brimage-Taylor

Chief Operating Officer, Dream Catcher Initative

True multipotentialite! As the Assistant Director of Programming and Chief Operating Officer at the Dreamcatcher Initiative Inc. (DCI), Alexis ensures both the organization’s internal and external infrastructure runs smoothly, all while building and implementing DCI’s programmatic work. She works to ensure that everything DCI does has a creative and positive impact. She is a dedicated advocate for change, a silent justice seeker, and a leader. She has amassed over a decade of experience working in public health and advocacy, focusing on turning opportunities from vision to action. The work she does with DCI is both professional and personally motivated.

As a certified life coach and years of experience in relationship management, building effective partnerships, harm reduction, mediation, and identifying synergy among groups, Alexis’ focus is the betterment of self and others’. She believes that people need a safe space to make mistakes and reflect, all while having the tools and resources to get back up; DCI creates that space.

In addition to her work at DCI, Alexis serves as a senior state advocate for the Substance Use Disorders and Justice-Involved Populations program, supporting Community Catalyst’s state and local partners providing technical assistance that addresses drug and alcohol addiction—using proactive and defensive strategies that promote diversion from arrest, integration of health and social services, and expansion of insurance coverage and access. Alexis provides coaching to pre-arrest diversion partners and health advocates on coalition building and maintenance, community engagement, grassroots organizing, stakeholder alliance, harm reduction strategies, and the design and implementation of successful health advocacy campaigns.

Alexis spearheads DCIs POWER is a series of workshops that take women on two journeys and down nine pathways. The POWER program prepares and assists young women with skills to be the best version of themselves. It creates the platform for women to share their stories and challenges while learning how to recognize trauma, heal, build new pathways for change they seek, and show up and show out unapologetically themselves.

Alexis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology Human and Health Services from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an A.A.B. degree in Business Administration from Western International University. She is a Certified Professional Life Coach from the International Academy of Life Coaching & Entrepreneurship.
